Here are some examples in action :
- Additional Bot Chat Settings
- Bot Status : This isn't a setting you can change, but you will be able to tell if it is running correctly.
- Bot Name: Change your bot alias (by default it is "bot") , this will affect the /bot commands
- Current Mood : Chooses a mood for the bot, this will affect results , for example if he is angry reaction gifs might be more offensive (Results vary on keyword combination used)
- Allow Bot Random Meme: The bot will scan your hangouts conversation and smartly add a reaction gif, the frequency depends on two other fields. Message or Word Count.
- Message Count Threshold : How many messages bot will receive before he sends a random meme.
- Word Count Threshold: How many words bot will receive before he sends a random meme.
- Giphy Image Count: Increase this number if the bot starts repeating the same images.
- Allow Adhoc Search: Enable this if you want the bot to post images from google results instead. In order to use this feature use dollar sign ( $ ) instead of hashtag ( # ). Here is some sample usage:
- Memes Only: This applies to the google adhoc search setting, check this off in order to restrict results to mainly meme related images.
- Use Large Images: Enable if you are on wifi or have unlimited data and want large image results.
- Google Search Animate:Google returns gifs instead of plain images, user discretion advised.
- Extra Bot Commands: While in a chat just type the following commands: (Note: if you change your bot name , the command will be dependent on such for example bot name = "john" then the command will start with "/john"
- /bot leave - Bot will leave any group hangouts.
- /bot insult - Bot will randomly spit out an insult.
- /bot feel - Bot will let you know what his current mood is.
Bonus: While the bot is in the chat, if someone posts a direct image link, ie: http://someurl.com/someimage.gif , the bot will attempt to retrieve it and post the actual image in the chat.
Warning: As the bot is running form your phone, be aware that it can consume a lot of data if many pictures are being sent constantly, this of course is dependent on usage. By default the bot will send the smallest size available of any gif to save bandwidth. If bandwidth is a concern we recommend stopping bot when not on wifi. The bot uses negligible data if no one is requesting pictures.
